I absolutely adored the Toy Story trilogy. Three perfect movies that are nostalgic and emotional, that really understand what it was like to be a kid. They were magic, and the last one was the perfect send off. So why are they making a fourth? Obviously the answer is money, the answer is always money. It’s just frustrating that in recent years Pixar and Disney have been churning out soulless remakes and sequels, and I’m frankly sick of it. I have a full length blog post about this if you want a more in-depth opinion of it. Disney, and Pixar in particular, were by far winning the animated wars, and were a beacon of heart and quality. Now I am missing out on more and more movies, knowing full well I’m missing nothing. It’s a shame that Toy Story had to be dragged into this streak of pointless and soulless movies.
