Captain Marvel is coming out in a few weeks, and right now Brie Larsson is promoting the movie through interviews and talk shows. During the promotion of the movie she mentions that there should be more representation of women and minorities in the film industry. Gasp! How dare she exclude everyone who isn’t a part of that category. Angry comic book nerds were upset by this, in the same vain they were upset with Black Panther. They were angry Captain Marvel existed and Brie Larsson saying something vaguely feminist only upsets them more. Naturally after being upset they reacted in the only way they could, down voting Captain Marvel on Rotten Tomatoes, a review website. Big win, that. Rotten Tomatoes responded by no longer allowing people to vote on a movie that haven’t even been released yet. I don’t know why that was even a feature in the first place but at least it’s gone now. Who knows how many other movies have been abused like this. Anyway, a lot of them are now crying “freedom of speech” and trying to act like this is some huge censorship issue. Instead of, you know, people unfairly voting on a movie that hasn’t even been released yet. It all seems like a stupid issue that no one should care about but then again that seems to be the Internet’s main purpose.
